Football: TCU QB Chandler Morris enters transfer portal
The redshirt sophomore will depart from Fort Worth after three seasons as a Horned Frog.
Multiple reports released Monday afternoon indicate that TCU quarterback Chandler Morris will enter the transfer portal after three seasons with the Horned Frogs. Morris was named the starting quarterback during the 2023 season, finishing 1,532 yards along with 12 touchdowns and five interceptions in seven games. Morris missed five games with an injured knee, which also sidelined him for most of the 2022 season after he had won the starting quarterback job over eventual Heisman Trophy runner-up Max Duggan.
Morris started his collegiate career at Oklahoma, where he spent one season before coming to TCU. The redshirt sophomore compiled 2,411 passing yards along with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions over his three seasons as a Horned Frog, recording a 65.6 percent career completion rate in the process. Morris added 400 rushing yards and six scores on the ground during his TCU career. With Morris reportedly departing from the roster, all signs point to redshirt freshman Josh Hoover becomes TCU’s No. 1 quarterback for the future.
