After falling short of winning against the Raptors on Sunday night, the Warriors moved one step closer to…..

RJ Barrett and the Raptors destroy the Warriors in a 133-118 defeat.

The Golden State Warriors’ season record now stands at 17-19 after their 133-118 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night. Even more awful than the final score was the Dubs’ actual performance, which made it appear like a poor loss. The Raptors led the game at the half, 76-49, having scored 76 points in the first half. The game was all but finished before the third quarter began.

Raptors’ most recent purchase It was one of RJ Barrett’s best games as an NBA player. The former third-overall pick finished with a 13-for-20 shooting percentage, six rebounds, six assists, and no turnovers. While five other Raptors recorded double-figure finishes, Barrett’s teammates were all below 17 points.

Instead of starting Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins in tandem with a second primary ballhandler, Dubs head coach Steve Kerr deviated from his recent practice of dividing them. It did not go smoothly. If Wiggins doesn’t show any signs of improving consistency, it’s difficult not to think that Golden State should consider eliminating him from the lineup completely.
In just 28 minutes of play, Klay Thompson went 10-for-15 from the floor for 25 points, making him the most productive offensive player for the Warriors. Despite having trouble from behind the arc, Kuminga gave a strong performance all around. Taking advantage of a spot start, rookie big Trayce Jackson-Davis recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Only Jackson-Davis (-3) and Kuminga (-5) had +/- values better than -15 among the starting lineup.
One of the main issues facing the Warriors was Steph Curry. Curry finished with just 9 points on 2-for-14 shooting, maybe exhausted from the recent schedule of games and the additional on-and off-court workload that has come with Draymond Green’s absence (0-for-9 from three). Similar to how he was unproductive off the bench, rookie Brandin Podziemski scored five points on two out of eleven shots (one of eight from three).
Moses Moody, a rookie wing who presents the most obvious alternative to Wiggins in the rotation, was the closest thing the Warriors have going for them. In less than 22 minutes of play, Moody finished with 21 points on 7 of 10 shots from the field (4 of 6 from three).
