Zan-Luk Leban could prove to be a future Everton star after footage has emerged of what he did on loan for Farsley Celtic.
The 21-year-old keeper kept a clean sheet in the National League North side’s recent 1-0 victory over Peterborough Sports on 6 April.
Alongside the Slovenian U-21 international’s shut-out, where he made some fine saves, one particular stop caught the eye.
Farsley posted a video on their Twitter page on 7 April, showing Leban acrobatically pushing away what looked to be a certain Peterborough goal to the applause of the crowd.
He’s been in fine form since joining the Yorkshire club on loan last summer, having registered 14 clean sheets in 39 appearances.
Given that they are currently in the relegation zone on goal difference in the National League North, you could quite comfortably say they may already be down if it wasn’t for his impact.
In the four games where the Slovenian hasn’t played this season, they have conceded 13 goals, while the loanee has only let 43 in total.
e has just two games left to try and help them avoid relegation to the seventh tier, but if that were to be the case, then it wouldn’t be his fault.
It seems almost a certainty that he will make the step up to the National League at the very least next season if the Toffees do decide to loan him out again.
They will have been keeping a close eye on his development and will no doubt be pleased with the impact he’s made at Farsley during this campaign.
While there is a long way to go before Leban can be considered for a first-team spot at Goodison Park, perhaps a door may open up for him to become one of the Blues’ backup keepers in the next couple of years.
He’s made good strides in his first spell away from Merseyside and will be looking to continue pushing forward next season.
