Sean Dyche has made five changes to his Everton starting eleven for Saturday’s match against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
After scoring off the bench last midweek, striker Beto makes his entire debut with Arnaut Danjuma up front, while Ashley Young, James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite, and Idrissa Gueye return to the starting lineup.
Youssef Chermiti, Ben Godfrey, Lewis Dobbin, Vitalii Mykolenko, and senior player Michael Keane are all omitted from the starting lineup, while Dwight McNeil returns to the bench.
Must win
With the transfer window closes, there are no longer excuses for this team or the manager. Our team is our team.
Any flaws identified by the manager should have been rectified, particularly given he allowed players to go on deadline day without replacing them.
So far it’s been three games and three defeats without a single goal scored, and the midweek win over Doncaster was hardly convincing despite them being bottom of League 2.
But despite being just four games in, this is the type of fixture that we simply have to win if we want to avoid another relegation battle which is what the club and the manager have said the aim is.
The team selected is undoubtedly Dyche’s strongest available lineup right now, so we need to get a result on the road at a difficult venue. If not, we can all be certain that it will be a long and difficult season.
