Everton Legend takes on new managerial role

Former Everton and Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is one of the candidates to replace top-flight manager.


Former Everton manager has been linked with a move to Ligue 1.

According to rumours, former Everton and Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is being considered as the next manager of Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyonnais.

Laurent Blanc agreed to mutually terminate his contract earlier this week, following Lyon’s terrible start to the season, which has dropped them to the basement of France’s first flight.

90-minute reports The club is considering Lampard for the position after former Chelsea and Brighton manager Graham Potter declined the offer.

Following Potter’s dismissal, the former Blues player was employed on an interim basis at Stamford Bridge, with the London club deciding to conduct a thorough search for a permanent manager, eventually arriving on Mauricio Pochettino.

Lampard won just one of his 11 games as Chelsea manager in his second stint, losing eight and drawing two. He was fired by Everton in January after a year in command on Merseyside.He joined the Toffees in January 2022, as the club escaped relegation in the season’s final game. However, a poor season last season resulted to his departure, with Sean Dyche taking his place at Goodison Park.

Lampard made his managerial debut with Derby County in 2018, before moving on to Chelsea just over a year later.
