Cincinnati Bengals return rookie Charlie Jones to active roster ahead of game vs. Ravens
The Cincinnati Bengals are making several roster moves ahead of their Thursday Night Football game against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11.
Last week, rookie wide receiver Charlie Jones was cleared to resume practicing after being designated to return from the team’s reserve/injured list.
Now, the Bengals are officially returning Jones to the active roster ahead of Thursday Night Football, with the rookie out of Purdue in line to play in his fourth NFL game.
Jones, picked in the fourth round of this past year’s draft, has been used primarily as a special teams weapon for Cincinnati this season, returning a punt 81 yards for a touchdown during the Bengals’ home opener against the Baltimore Ravens.
For the season, Jones has been the Bengals’ return man eight times, totaling 150 yards and a touchdown.
After practicing fully this week leading up to Thursday, Jones was officially listed as questionable for Thursday’s game on the team’s injury report.
In addition to Jones, the Bengals have elevated wide receiver Shedrick Jackson from the practice squad to the active roster for Thursday’s game against the Ravens.
Jackson is classified as a standard elevation and automatically will revert to the practice squad on Friday.
The 24-year-old Jackson was also elevated from the practice squad last week in the Bengals’ game against the Houston Texans.
