Leeds United defender Max Wober has opened up after leaving Elland Road. The Austrian international has joined German side Borussia Monchengladbach on a season-long loan, joining the long list of outgoing players this summer.
Wober joins Rasmus Kristensen, Robin Koch, Brenden Aaronson, Diego Llorente and Marc Roca who have all left the club on loan so far this summer, with Rodrigo also leaving on a permanent deal. The versatile defender was signed in January under Jesse Marach and Victor Orta as the club looked for some more defensive solidity.
However, after just a few months, Wober has left the club. Speaking after signing for Monchengladbach, the 25-year-old said: “Borussia is an absolutely traditional club, which was always very interesting for me and I enjoyed watching – also because a lot of Austrians played here.
“It is an extremely attractive task that I am really looking forward to. I’m a fighter, a warrior on the field.
“I drop my life there. In addition, I think I can handle the ball quite well and control the game from behind.
