Moses Caicedo has been a long-term target, but there have been stumbling blocks in terms of agreeing on a fee with Brighton and Romeo Lavia has also been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge to fill the vacated midfield roles.

In defence, Axel Disasi is on the verge of moving from AS Monaco in a reported £38.57 million deal, whilst Levi Colwill is close to putting pen-to-paper on a new six-year contract with the club. Robert Sanchez is also reportedly a target to come in and compete for the No.1 spot with Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The club have also been proactive in acquiring new forwards, bringing in Nicolas Jackson from Villareal and Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig, however, Pochettino is still in the market for a more experienced centre forward.

‘Internal Discussions’ Taking Place with Juventus

As per Romano, Chelsea had already decided against a move for Vlahovic as part of any deal for Lukaku at the beginning of July, but the club are now weighing up entering into negotiations for the Serbian striker.

The Italian journalist has said that discussions between the two clubs are taking place via “intermediaries” but that the Blues hierarchy are “discussing internally” whether to proceed with a swap deal.

However, I Bianconeri are “insisting” on receiving around £34 million as part of the deal. Vlahovic has been described as an “extraordinary” player by his international coach Dragan Stojkovic ahead of the World Cup in Qatar and had been on Arsenal’s radar before securing a move to Turin in January 2022.

The 23-year-old could certainly suit the Premier League with his physicality and his eye for goal.
