Tino Livramento arrives at St James’ Park and 16 Mags miss out on Fiorentina clash
Tino Livramento is on Tyneside and on his way to St James’ Park for Newcastle’s opening game of the Sela Cup against Fiorentina.
As revealed by The Mail’s Craig Hope, the 20-year-old will be in the stands to watch his new teammates in today’s 3.30pm kick off.
With a fee agreed with Southampton and part of his medical already underway, there’s a small chance he signs in time to play in tomorrow’s 4pm meeting with Villarreal.
16 first-team players have missed out on today’s squad – Pope, Karius, Krafth Manquillo, Schar, Lascelles, Dummett, Burn, Bruno, Longstaff, Willock, Joelinton, Ritchie, Murphy, Wilson, Barnes – but we can expect the majority of those names to start this against the La Liga side tomorrow, with Livramento in with an outside chance of featuring.
Schar may not be risked due to a slight hamstring concern, meaning we could line up something like this against Villarreal:
Potential XI vs Villarreal: Pope, Manquillo, Schar Lascelles, Dummett, Burn – Longstaff, Bruno, Joelinton – Murphy, Wilson, Barnes.
Starting XI vs Fiorentina: Dubravka – Trippier, Botman, Murphy, Targett – L.Miley, Tonali, Anderson – Almiron, Gordon, Isak (Subs: Gillespie, Smith, De Bolle, Carylon, Savage, J.Miley, Diallo, Turner-Cookr, Hackett, Ndiweni, Huntley, Parkinson, McArthur.)
