“Very scary” | Former player speaks out on Hammers strategy this summer

Former West Ham player Martin Allen has spoken out on the clubs transfer strategy this summer.

Allen, who has recently been announced as the new host of The West Ham Way Pre-Match Events, has admitted that West Ham’s approach this summer is baffling, leaving everyone, including the manager very frustrated.

“We sold our captain and best player, all that money.. Yet nothing yet done in the market,” stated Mad Dog on The West Ham Way Patreon. “That for me is very scary.

“The strategy is clearly not working. Steidten wants younger players a cross Europe, Moyes wants experience.

“I understand Moyes philosophy but Steidten was brought in to have a new vision. I don’t understand why there is such a dilemma now at the club.

“The strategy doesn’t make sense. You want players in, get their homes, kids schools all sorted. Then to work with the team, the manager. This situation really is ridiculous.

“I imagine David Moyes is tearing his hair out with how the club have handled business so far. Frustrating for everyone, especially the manager.”

Allen will be hosting his first Pre-Match Event ahead of the Chelsea at home fixture on Sunday 20th August, with full details below:

For our seventh season we have a change of host. Mark Ward has decided to leave the events and as a result there was only one man that could and should replace him as the host of our events and that is the one and only Mad Dog Martin Allen. Martin needs no introduction to patreons and West Ham fans and was an icon of 90s football at Upton Park.

Sadly, Alan Devonshire has pulled out due to family commitments but we are delighted to host our first ever event with Trevor Morley instead!

Morley arrived at the club in a double deal with Ian Bishop for former host Mark Ward. A former teammate and good friend of Mad Dog this should enable sone great banter between the two. Morley was involved in two promotions, one relegation and some icon Premier League games in the 90s. He played 178 league games for the club scoring 57 goals. He is flying in from Norway to do the event especially and we cannot wait to welcome him.

Our location is O’Neill’s in Leytonstone which is a spacious, comfortable venue that has a state of the art sound system and a large projector showing footage of classic games and goals. . For those driving to this event, there is also a generous amount of parking spaces available at no cost and the venue is easily accessible from the A12, M11 and M25.
