West Ham fans are too long in the tooth to count their chickens until they see Alvarez holding up the claret and blue shirt.

The Mexico midfielder is an absolute destroyer who would complement Lucas Paqueta perfectly.
Unlike Rice in the last couple of seasons, the Mexican is more focused solely on his defensive duties, which will give Paqueta much more freedom to focus on creating and scoring.
Fiercely determined and competitive, the video shows just how well Alvarez reads the game and breaks up play.
He also has good feet on the ball, wriggling out of tight situations before looking for a forward pass at every opportunity.

But David Moyes looks set to get a man who knows his role in the team inside out and is a very disciplined, tactically astute player.
