CRYSTAL PALACE SEALED AN EMERGENCY DEAL WITH STAR PLAYER

Crystal Palace defender Polly Doran has signed a contract extension with the club ahead of the new season.

The Eagles announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Doran joined Crystal Palace last summer after playing her football in her native Australia. The defender went on to make 18 appearances for the South Londoners in the Barclays Women’s Championship while she helped the club to keep seven clean sheets.

Crystal Palace have been in contract talks with Doran since the end of last season and the club have now confirmed that she is staying on with them for 2023/2024.

After signing her new deal, Doran said “I’m super-happy to be signing with Palace for another year. The team is building something really special here, and I’m excited to be a part of it.

“My first year at Palace was really enjoyable – all the girls were super-welcoming, and it made the move away from home a lot easier. I’m hoping, next season we can continue to build and be even more consistent, pushing for the top spots.”

Doran becomes the 14th member of Crystal Palace’s 2022/2023 squad to commit to the club for the new season. There will be further squad-building before the new season begins as The Eagles are still a little light on numbers.
