PL club hopeful of move for Leeds United man who wants to leave…

Everton remain determined to sign Leeds United man Wilfried Gnonto this summer and there is expectation from the Premier League side that the Whites will lower their price this summer, as per FootballTransfers.

Gnonto, 19, played in 24 Premier League games last season. He scored twice and assisted four as Leeds United were relegated back to the Championship.

The versatile attacker can play across the front line and in behind the striker making him a handy asset to have.

Gnonto featured in Leeds United’s opening Championship fixture against Cardiff City this season, and hasn’t played since as he attempts to force a move away from Elland Road this summer.

Everton have had long-standing interest in the forward man but Leeds United were keen to keep him at the club past September’s deadline.

However, the latest update suggests there is a feeling his refusal to play will force Leeds United’s hand and make them sell this window. Everton have previously had a bid of £15million rejected as the Whites were holding out hoping the Italian would stay this summer.

Not much choice

The Whites could keep Gnonto at the club against his will, but realistically that is likely to do them no good this season.

Daniel Farke desperately needs players who want to play for the club and at the moment the lack of movement in the transfer window isn’t helping his chances of being a successful boss at Leeds United.

There will have to be a big compromise in the asking price for Leeds United to sell to Everton, but with over two weeks of the window left there’s plenty of time for negotiations to pick up.

It’ll be interesting to see if Leeds United’s stance changes here, but for now they’ll be focussed on their upcoming clash against West Brom this Friday.
