Alan Myers drops Everton transfer update on Champions League medalist…

Everton are not understood to be pursuing the services of PSV forward Johan Bakayoko this summer, according to Alan Myers.

The Sky Sports journalist reported on Wednesday (16 August) when asked about the Toffees’ reported interest in the Belgium international.

SPORTEQUATIONS claimed that Everton were lining up a bid for the 20-year-old as they looked to address their attacking woes.

Via Twitter, Myers wrote, “I believe no truth in Bakayoko but just what I’ve heard, who knows?”

Move on

Bakayoko will be playing in the Champions League this season after they go through the qualifiers and will have ambitions of getting his name out on the European stage.

Unless it’s crazy money, a move to Everton would not tempt him and the club are in no position to give him that.

He’s also not a prolific goal scorer so this is not a move that suddenly makes the Toffees a genuine top-10 contender.

They need someone who can come in and bring that mentality of finding the back of the net every week and proving to be a real goal threat.

Whenever Dominic Calvert-Lewin was firing on all cylinders that’s the sort of threat he carried and they need to find someone like that.

Sean Dyche has wanted a striker since he joined in January and he surely will have desired options in mind so hopefully, one of them can walk through the door sooner rather than later.

In exclusive Everton news, the Toffees are now in a transfer race with Juventus and Napoli to sign an ex-Premier League attacker.
