Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin sends four-word message to Legend

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has sent a four-word message to Theo Walcott after he announced his retirement from football.

The 34-year-old has decided to call time on his playing career, having made 397 appearances in the Premier League.

Walcott played in the competition for Southampton, Arsenal and Everton, playing alongside Calvert-Lewin at the Merseyside club.

Walcott shared an emotional message on Instagram, ending with the words: “Thank you to everyone who has been with me along the way.”

Among those commenting was his former Everton teammate Calvert-Lewin, who wrote: “Some career theezy, congratulations.”

It’s an emotional farewell for Walcott, who spent several years shining in the top flight of English football and for the England national team.

Three of his club years were spent on Merseyside with Everton, where he lined out alongside star striker Calvert-Lewin.

The winger made 85 appearances for the Toffees, as well as representing Arsenal 397 times and Southampton 82 times, across a handful of different spells.

He is now perhaps set to watch on as his former teams have very different aims this season, with the Saints desperate to get back into the top flight following their relegation to the Championship last time out.

Arsenal meanwhile will be fighting for the Premier League title having come so close last season, narrowly losing out on the prestigious trophy to Manchester City.

As for Everton, the Toffees will be eager to avoid a third successive Premier League relegation battle, having been in real danger of dropping down a division in recent years.

In other Everton news, one Premier League club plans to use a £46million windfall to sign a Toffees player this summer.
