Report: West Ham get response after bid for ‘outrageous’ player

David Moyes’s West Ham United have reportedly made a move for Mohammed Kudus, as Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea lurk.

According to The Athletic, West Ham United and Chelsea are interested in signing Mohammed Kudus from Ajax in the summer transfer window.

The Hammers have made a bid for the Ghana international attacking midfielder, but Ajax have turned it down.

Ajax would like to Kudus, but the 23-year-old, who was described as “outrageous” by former Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand on BT Sport in September 2022, wants to leave.

The Athletic has reported that Chelsea are also keen on signing Kudus from Ajax in the summer transfer window.

West Ham United or Chelsea could still sign Mohammed Kudus

Although Ajax have turned down a bid from West Ham United for Mohammed Kudus, we believe that the Hammers or Chelsea could still be able to sign the 23-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.

After all, as reported by The Athletic, Ajax had agreed a deal with Brighton and Hove Albion over Kudus earlier this summer.

So, the Dutch club are willing to sell the playmaker, but it is clear that they would demand a lot of money for him.

If West Ham or Chelsea eventually decided to cough up the transfer fee that Ajax are looking for Kudus, then they could be able to sign him.

Kudus made 19 starts and 11 substitute appearances in the Eredivisie for Ajax last season.

The attacking midfielder scored 11 goals and gave three assists in those matches.

The 23-year-old scored one goal in two UEFA Europa League for Ajax last season.
