Crystal Palace have moved ahead of Nottingham Forest in the race to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed yesterday that Roy Hodgson’s side are in talks with the 26-year-old over a move to Selhurst Park.

Steve Cooper’s side have already signed one goalkeeper this window, with Matt Turner joining the club from Arsenal for a deal rising to £10 million.

With the Reds still looking for another ‘keeper this window, a deal may be negotiated with Erik Ten Hag’s side. However, with many failed attempts to sign the United shot-stopper the Reds may turn their attention elsewhere.

Due to Turner’s impressive start to life at the club, a new ‘keeper may only be brought in as a backup.

Palace are in the market for a new ‘keeper with Sam Johnstone currently occupying the No 1 role, with Vicente Guaita absent from the first-team setup.

The ‘insane‘ ‘keeper spent last season on loan with Forest and remains interested in a return to the City Ground.

However, negotiations with United have been challenging, with multiple bids being rejected for the England international.

Cooper’s side are experiencing the same issue as they had with James Garner last summer, with the Red Devils pricing the Reds out of a move.

Henderson would still be a huge coup should he join the Reds on a permanent basis, but it looks as though a move elsewhere is more likely than a return to the City Ground as it stands.
