Talks held: Leeds United initiate contact to lure player to Elland Road – Report

Leeds United are said to have held talks with the representatives of Swansea City striker Joel Piroe in an attempt to tempt him into moving to West Yorkshire.

We’re yet to see a huge flurry from Leeds in the transfer market as Daniel Farke still requires multiple signings, and there is very little time to do so.

With the transfer window shutting next Friday, the club need to get into gear with more than a couple of signings, including in attack with a striker.

Joel Piroe to Leeds?

The Athletic have reported today that Leeds are pressing on with their long-standing interest in Swansea City star Joel Piroe ahead of a potential bid.

Leeds are said to value the striker between £8-10million, with the Dutchman in the final year of his contract after two stunning seasons in South Wales – netting 41 goals in the Championship since joining in 2021, while registering a further eight assists.

Have Leeds been in touch with the player?

The Daily Mail are now reporting that the striker’s agent have been in talks with Leeds over a possible move to Elland Road.

“The Elland Road side held talks with the player’s representatives this week and Daniel Farke is eager to bolster his attacking options.”

They claim that Leeds are offering £10million to Swansea for the 24-year-old, a bid that has not actually come, according to other claims from WalesOnline today.

Should Leeds sign Joel Piroe?

Piroe would surely be keen on the move, knowing the work that Farke has done in the Championship previously, and the chance he would have at achieving promotion here.

He looks like the real deal in the Championship, and we’ve been crying out for someone capable of hitting 20-plus goals this season.

Amongst the other options we have in our squad, our attack could be extremely dangerous by the time the window shuts.
