According to journalist Ben Jacobs in GiveMeSport, Liverpool are interested in signing Douglas Luiz from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the final days of the summer transfer window.

The reporter has claimed that Liverpool have internally discussed a potential move for Douglas Luiz.
Jacobs has reported that Liverpool want to sign a midfielder this week, claiming that Bayern Munich star Ryan Gravenberch is a major target for the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners.
The reporter said: “Yeah, Douglas Luiz is a name that has been discussed internally by Liverpool. I’m not aware of any movement at this point.
“I think that it’s crystal clear that Liverpool wants to add between now and the end of the window if the right name becomes available.
“I would still keep an eye on Ryan Gravenberch because that’s a long-standing Liverpool target and the player is keen on the move.”
We do not think that Liverpool will be able to sign Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa in the final days of the summer transfer window.
Yes, Liverpool are a big and wealthy club who have won the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League in recent seasons, but it is hard to see Villa sell the Brazil international so late in the window without having a replacement lined up.
The 25-year-old is an important player in Villa manager Unai Emery’s side.
