Leicester City seek For £25,000,000 for Player.

Rangers have reportedly set their sights on Leicester City defender Harry Souttar, as the Scottish side believe they can agree a deal prior to Friday’s deadline, according to the Daily Record.

The defender has been on Rangers’ target list for some time with manager Michael Beale reportedly a huge fan of the player. His older brother John is already at Ibrox and a potential loan deal could be agreed in the coming days. The player is understood to be keen on a temporary switch to boost his game time after a difficult spell with the Foxes.

New boss Enzo Maresca is seemingly not keen on the Australian with the player being frozen out of the team he only joined six months ago. Souttar joined the club for a reported £15,000,000 in January from Stoke City. He has also been on the books of Fleetwood Town, Ross County and Dundee United and could be set for a return North of the Border with Michael Beale’s side.

Leicester have maintained a perfect start to their Championship campaign winning all four of their opening league fixtures as they look for an immediate return to the top flight following their shock relegation last season. In their next second tier fixture they face Liam Rosenior’s Hull City after a midweek EFL Cup trip to League Two Tranmere Rovers.

It is clear the player doesn’t fit into the new managers plans, so the best outcome for all parties would be to allow him to leave on loan. However there is a significant financial matter to resolve. The player only joined the club in January and Leicester will most likely want his wages covered plus a loan fee. If that can be resolved then Michael Beale will have secured a top talent who was in high demand at the beginning of the year.
