The Foxes have already done a tremendous amount of business in order to rebuild the squad as the summer 2023 transfer season draws to a close. But if the documents are to be believed, our business is far from over. Let’s quickly review who is in, who is out, and who is…hold on, aren’t those the only two choices? Let’s take a look at potential arrivals and departures.

Arriving: DONE DEAL from Yunus Akgün. Considering that Akgün played as a substitute in Tuesday’s cup victory over Tranmere Rovers, we can be convinced that he is part of the team. As an attacking midfielder who can play on either wing or in the center, Akgün is a very diminutive and elusive player. He is on loan from Galatasaray with a purchase requirement if he meets specific playing time benchmarks.

Abdul Fatawu: DEAL COMPLETED. The winger from Ghana joins on loan from Sporting CP. Only 19 years old, the attacking midfielder/striker has already played for his country on a full-time basis. There are some questions regarding the loan’s terms as this transaction was just closed. He has a €60 million reserve clause, which raises the suspicions that he will return to Sporting in June and that he is both very, very fascinating.

Mr. James McAtee In large part because of the Maresca connection, he is associated with Leicester. He spent the last campaign on loan with Sheffield United, and they are now in the lead to re-sign the midfielder. Highly unlikely.

Melbourne van Hooijdonk – Given that he just this year joined for Bologna, I wouldn’t put much stock in this latest rumor. He is indeed the son of Pierre van Hooijdonk, and I would love for there to be something to do with this because I adore the name. The likelihood would be rated as “very, very unlikely.”

Thomas Cannon The Everton striker is the subject of numerous rumors, which is strange considering how well he performed when on loan at Preston North End last year. It’s odd to see Everton pondering releasing a young attacking player when you consider that they have scored (checks notes) 0 goals in league play in 3 games. Since there is a lot of competition for his autograph, let’s label this as “unlikely.”

Ilias Chair: It won’t take place. Release it.

Landon Donovan incited an international dispute with Mexico by making derogatory remarks, peeing, and winning.

Outgoing:

Tim Castagne: FINISHED BUSINESS. He now plays for Brighton & Hove Albion. I never thought our strategies under Rodgers were appropriate for him at all, and based on his body language, I believe he shared my opinion. He always provided everything he had for us. I wish him luck.

DONE DEAL: Viktor Kristiansen. At the moment, Bologna is hosting the Danish defender on loan.

West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Everton are all rumored to be interested in Kelechi Iheanacho, according to the Seniorman. Given what we received for Barnes and Madders, our £20 million asking price feels both too low and about right. I detest the thought of losing the FA Cup’s King, but I would consider all of these rumors to be “highly probable.”

Although Bournemouth’s interest in Patson Daka has diminished, there is still a strong likelihood that he will depart the King Power on September 1. Despite being paid the joint second-largest salary in the Championship, he does not seem to be a part of Enzo Maresca’s strategy. A loan to a team on the continent looks likely.

Luke Thomas has drawn interest from a number of teams, including Celtic. Thomas has been on the cusp of gaining a regular spot in the team for years, but he has never quite convinced. Give this one a 50/50 shot.

William Ndidi If Wilf leaves, it will harm me. He has reportedly reached an agreement with Forest, and there are rumors that Liverpool will submit a last-minute offer. Ndidi has a significant role in Maresca’s system as a #8, and, wonder of wonders, he appears to be thriving. Despite this, I believe that he will most likely leave.

Wout Faes – The Spurs are looking for a potential Eric Dier successor, and Faes, I’m not going to lie, would do a fantastic job in that position. The importance of Faes this season cannot be overstated, and we cannot accomplish this without adding another defender. This is unlikely, in my opinion, unless we get another center defender.

Harry Souttar: Harry, you weren’t well known to us. Rangers are interested in him, although Maresca does not currently consider him. Ibrox would be the ideal place for him, so don’t be shocked if it occurs.

That is what we currently have. Have we forgotten any? Absolutely, I say. Simply put, there is too much going on right now for us to keep up with. We’ll have updates tomorrow, but we think this is a pretty accurate summary of the situation right now. Comment below with your thoughts to let us know!
