According to reports, Leicester City has won the race to capture Everton attacker Tom Cannon.

With a late bid, City are claimed to have beaten off competition from Preston North End and Middlesbrough. Preston are said to have offered around £15 million for the teenage striker, outbidding Boro.

However, with the potential departures of Patson Daka and Kelechi Iheanacho, City entered the competition late. The latter is rumored to be on his way to Nottingham Forest.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, the arrangement that would bring Cannon to the King Power Stadium is worth £20 million with add-ons. Cannon spent last season on loan at Preston North End of the Championship.
