Leicester City’s Decision Puts An End To……

According to Darren Witcoop, Leicester City midfielder Wilfred N’didi is expected to stay, thereby ruling out the possibility of QPR’s Ilias Chair joining the club.

Following the Foxes’ relegation to the Championship, the 26-year-old midfielder has been linked with moves to Nottingham Forest and Fenerbahce, with Nottingham Forest and Fenerbahce among those connected with a move for the Nigerian.

However, Enzo Maresca’s side are apparently ready to keep their bright asset as a boost to their promotion quest back to the Premier League. They have already had to deal with the departures of major players such as Yuri Tielemans, James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, and a number of other notable names as Premier League and European clubs sought to capitalize on the club’s demise.

With the player currently remaining at the King Power Stadium, the Foxes have withdrawn from a potential £6,000,000 transfer for Queens Park Rangers’ Ilias Chair.

Leicester have fared well without their stars, returning to the Championship with a bang, winning all four of their first four games to go top of the table with 12 points after four games. They also won the first two rounds of the EFL Cup, defeating Burton Albion and Tranmere Rovers to earn a trip to Anfield to face Premier League heavyweights Liverpool in the third round.

N’didi was once regarded as one of the top midfielders in the Premier League, and his relationship with Yuri Tielemans was regarded as one of the best. However, with his teammate leaving and the club slipping to the Championship, his stock has plummeted dramatically. If one of the bigger Premier League clubs had come calling, I believe there would have been more urgency in a move, but trading the Foxes for Nottingham Forest might leave him in a similar predicament next year.
