After Evan Ferguson scored a hat-trick for Brighton against Newcastle United over the weekend, the former Arsenal striker referred to him as “fearless.”

The 18-year-old joined some illustrious figures on that list, including Michael Owen, who scored three hat-tricks for Liverpool at the age of 18.

Wright, however, believes that given Brighton’s temperament, “they will sell” their star striker on their own terms since he believes Ferguson should play for one of “the top six teams,” which includes both Liverpool and Arsenal (04/09/23 @ 2:30 pm).

Surprisingly, according to Football Transfers, Arsenal was interested in signing the Republic of Ireland international during the 2023 summer transfer window.

Wright shared his thoughts on Ferguson, and if the Reds decide to part ways with Mohamed Salah, whether it be this summer or in a year, they will have a lot of money to spend.

“When you look at him, the way he plays, his appreciation for the game, his movement and finishing with both feet, good in the air, and good pace,” added Wright.

“At age 18, he possesses every quality. Very mature in his playing. All he needs to do to get people talking about him in million-dollar terms is to keep doing what he is already doing since that striker is not permitted. That 18-year-old player in the Premier League at the ideal club for continued development is not someone you can find.

Ferguson is at the appropriate team.

The developing teen recently signed a new contract with Brighton, which undoubtedly increased his price tag significantly.

But since it allowed him to advance during a crucial time in his career, signing that deal was the smartest decision Ferguson could have made.

However, it appears that Brighton will sell him when they make that decision, not if. In that case, the timing of it and the club he chooses to join will be crucial for everyone concerned.
