What sort of a boost can his comeback provide?

The most recent Leicester City information as Enzo Maresca’s squad travels to the south on Friday night.

Since Leicester City will resume play in just a few days, the international break is now more than halfway through.

City supporters don’t have as long of a wait as most after a weekend without Championship games until the team plays again. On Friday at 8 p.m., they travel to face Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium.

It does imply that, once his international players return, Enzo Maresca won’t have much time to prepare. Those traveling with their countries include Mads Hermansen, Danny Ward, Wout Faes, Harry Souttar, Callum Doyle, Cesare Casadei, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Patson Daka.

The majority of them were active over the weekend, with Souttar and Daka contributing to the score, and we’re crossing our fingers that they all recover fully. For those that remained at Seagrave, attention was focused on the match against Southampton. Conor Coady’s return to training may have handed City a significant injury boost ahead of the encounter.

Here is a list of the City team’s most recent injury updates.

Coady, Conor

Coady sustained a foot injury during preseason after moving to the King Power Stadium in the summer, preventing him from making his club debut. However, it might happen shortly.

The defender is now moving close to making a comeback after spending the first several weeks in a protective boot and watching from the sidelines. He was scheduled to return to training last week, and it appears that has happened.

To the pleasure of fans on social media, Coady has been seen participating in rondos with his teammates in clips posted by the club during the week. It remains to be seen if Coady will find the match on Friday night to be too soon, but it appears he is moving closer to making his much anticipated club debut.

Robert Praet
Due to a back injury received on the Friday before the match against Cardiff City, Praet has missed the previous four games after playing in the first three games of the season in all competitions. Prior to the match against Hull, Enzo Maresca announced that the midfielder would miss three months due to the injury.

It’s a serious injury. Between 10 and 12 weeks, most likely. His back,” he declared. Praet won’t likely be anticipated to play again until late November, with the match against Leeds United on November 4 possibly being one of his return dates.

Smithies, Alex

The goalie was brought in as the club’s third choice goalkeeper behind Daniel Iversen and Danny Ward, however he has yet to make a single appearance for them since signing last summer. He has dropped lower down the pecking order due to the rise of Jakub Solarczyk and the acquisition of Mads Hermansen, but he has also been sidelined due to injury.

Although it is unknown how long he will be sidelined, he won’t be able to play for City in the Championship until after January at the earliest. Smithies was left out of the squad when the EFL revealed City’s roster this week because it had one more player than the maximum of 25.
