‘A little turbulence’ – Ex-Leeds United player on Millwall comeback and Whites need….

An ex-Leeds United player has spoken out about the club’s return to action at Millwall – but the truth of what the Whites require in their promotion bid this season.

During the 2007-08 League One season, David Prutton appeared twice for Leeds against Millwall, scoring the opening goal in a 2-0 victory at The Den in April 2008. Leeds, on the other hand, have lost five of their last six excursions to Millwall, yielding only one point via a 1-1 draw in September 2018 under Marcelo Bielsa, in which Jack Harrison scored a late equalizer.

The Lions narrowly lost out on a Championship play-off spot on the final day of last season under Gary Rowett, and Sky Sports presenter Prutton says Leeds are in for a “juicy” first game back given the expected hostile reception at The Den.

Prutton, on the other hand, believes that these are the games that Daniel Farke’s Whites must win in order to avoid relegation from the Premier League at the first attempt.

“I’ve done a couple of Millwall games this season where it’s been a bit up and down,” Prutton explained to the YEP.

“Having played in these games both at home and away, I know how juicy they are.” Gary has now consistently performed well for Millwall, despite the disappointment of missing out on the play-offs on the final day of the season.

“There’s been a smidgeon of unrest since.” In terms of the supporter base, I witnessed it at Norwich. But Gary has been in this game long enough to know what it’s like to cope with the slings and arrows, so I hope Leeds will give him a warm welcome back.

“But with teams like this, with all due respect to Millwall, if Leeds want to knock on the door of not just the top six, but the top two, then this is one that needs to come and go and come back with three points.”
