Micah Richards of BirminghamLive discusses John McGinn and what he could be valued in the transfer market in the latest Aston Villa news.
According to Micah Richards, Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn is “back to his best” and may be worth up to £50 million.
Former Villa defender Richards discussed McGinn on Gary Lineker’s The Rest Is Football podcast, where he revealed stories about the Scot because he is in a group chat with him, Jack Grealish, and others.
Richards recalls seeing McGinn play for the first time and believing he was worth £50 million, and feels he is now back to his best after a “bit of a dip” lately at Villa.
“So John McGinn, we have a WhatsApp group so I’m in there and he’s daft as a brush,” Richards remarked on the program.
“He has the banter, he came down from Scotland, and he was rather anxious in the dressing room at the time because it was all about Jack Grealish.
He and Jack, who is also on the group chat, “had a really fantastic relationship, and when I saw him play, I said, ‘He’s going to be worth £40 or £50 million.
“I noticed it right away, and Liverpool and Manchester United were said to be interested in signing him. However, after a little slump and loss of confidence, he is currently performing at his peak.
He can run all day long and is really strong and good with the ball. He was actually in front while I was in back during all of the running tests, and he had an incredibly easy time.
As long as he maintains his concentration, he need not go at this time because Villa are so good.
