Daniel Farke must be pleased as his Leeds United star goes 90 minutes without injury for his country – View

Glen Kamara, the new Leeds United midfielder, will be pushing this week for his debut start for the club after a full 90-minute outing for Finland on Sunday.

A 0-0 draw against pointless Sheffield Wednesday last time out demonstrated that Daniel Farke’s Leeds side still has a lot to work on, but the international break will have hampered his preparations slightly.

Several players from his senior squad have flown out to represent their countries in recent days, including two of his most recent additions.

How did Glen Kamara fare?

Finland won once and lost once in two appearances for Glen Kamara as they maintained their good position at the top of their group in European Championship qualification.

Kamara was involved in the winning goal in a late triumph over Kazakhstan, finding the pass to forward Benjamin Kallman, who assisted Oliver Antman in a wonderful move.

His second appearance was a full 90 minutes against Denmark, with an 86th-minute Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg shot breaking the deadlock as the away team secured a deserved win despite having the majority of the chances.

Where will Leeds finish in the 23/24 season?

The big picture: Kamara has caught up.

The important thing for Leeds and Farke here is that Kamara played a complete 90 minutes despite only coming off the bench on his debut.

Kamara arrived from Rangers after failing to kick a ball for them this season under Mick Beale, as well as being absent from pre-season owing to illness and the inevitable exit.

His ability to play a full game in a stressful international match is wonderful news for Farke, who may want to start him away at Millwall this weekend.
