Report: Euro club requests medical report to seal last-minute Everton player exit

Everton transfer news comes as Fenerbache requests a medical report on Andre Gomes ahead of a last-minute deal.


According to Sporx, Fenerbache have requested the health reports of Everton midfielder Andre Gomes in order to secure a last-minute deal.

According to the Turkish online media site (14 September), Fenerbache had concerns about Gomes’ injury history and requested health assessments on the Portuguese midfielder, which manager Ismail Karta approved.

The midfielder is likely to leave Goodison Park for the ükrü Saracolu Stadium in a £4.3 million move, according to FotoMac, as Fenerbache try to improve their defensive midfield options ahead of Friday’s Turkish deadline.

According to Sporx, the Fenerbache management did not initially favor Gomes, but their judgment changed once Karta granted the green light due to the 30-year-old’s skills.

For nearly two years, the 30-year-old has been linked with a permanent departure from Goodison Park, but no deal has materialized.

Gomes hasn’t played in front of the Everton fans in a long time, with his last Premier League outing being against Crystal Palace at home in May 2022 [Transfermarkt].

Since then, the 29-year-old Portuguese international has enjoyed a fruitful loan stay at LOSC Lille, appearing in 26 Ligue 1 games, scoring three goals and contributing two assists.

A return to France appeared to be on the cards during the summer, but no deal materialized, and with his contract expiring in less than a year, Everton will do extremely well to collect some form of price for his expected and inevitable leave.
