Ashley Young says that the Everton dressing room is only concerned with what they can control on the field in the event of a takeover.

777 Partners, an American investment firm, is in talks with majority owner Farhad Moshiri about purchasing the Toffees. The process, however, may be lengthy, according to The Times, because the Premier League ‘ensures that no regulations on club ownership will be broken’ due to legal claims made against the corporation and its subsidiaries.

Young confessed on talkSPORT that a delay is not what Evertonians want to hear. And he thinks that the players will ignore all of the commotion and focus solely on generating outcomes. Young, who joined the Blues on a free transfer from Aston Villa during the summer transfer window, stated: “It’s not what the fans want to hear, but as players, we have to worry about what happens on the pitch.” That is something we may be concerned about.

“I just hope everything goes smoothly and the process is simple for the club.” But, as I have stated, we as players must go out there and contribute on the field.”

Everton had only one point from their first four Premier League games this season. It keeps them in the relegation zone ahead of their match against Arsenal at Goodison Park on Sunday.

The Toffees have narrowly avoided relegation the last two seasons, and another scrap is expected this time. Young, on the other hand, is encouraged by the outcomes thus far and expects they will improve. “What I said when I first went to the club, the fans, the club itself, the owners have been fighting relegation,” he continued. It is not what the club desires.

Everton 'close' to full takeover by American firm 777 Partners; it could be bad news for Toffees fans

“When I was at Villa, we faced Everton, and that was one of the reasons I joined Everton, to help propel the club back into the top ten.” They are a large club and have been for many years. We lost some good players, but we added some really good players. It’s all about putting points on the board.

“Aside from the Aston Villa game (a 4-0 loss), we’ve been unlucky.” It’s terrible when you create clear-cut chances in games and don’t take them, allowing one or two goals. We realize it’s going to be a gamble, and we have the guys in the squad to do it.”
