I don’t like’: Liverpool midfielder confesses he despises playing against Manchester City’s 26-year-old star

Diogo Jota, a Liverpool winger, has stated that he dislikes playing against Manchester City defender Ruben Dias.

The two Portuguese players have just recently returned from their most recent international stint with their country, having both played in Portugal’s games against Slovakia and Luxembourg.

But, now, the Liverpool star has opened up on what it’s like to compete against his international teammate.

Jota claims he dislikes playing against Dias.
Jota had this to say about playing against Dias in a recent interview with That’s Football.

“Obviously, playing against Manchester City is always difficult,” he remarked. Ruben Dias is, in my opinion, one of the greatest. I don’t enjoy facing him.”
The centre-back has met Jota four times, winning one, losing one, and drawing two.

Jota has failed to score a goal in those four games, which is why he stated he finds it difficult to play against Pep Guardiola’s team, especially when Dias is on the field.

Given that the defender made more clearances (56) than any other City player in the Premier League last season, it’s safe to assume that Jota isn’t the only one who struggles to play effectively against Dias.
With that in mind, it’s easy to see why Jota regards Dias so highly as a defender and is probably delighted to have him on his international squad.

Moving forward, every City fan will be hoping that the center-back can make life tough for Jota and the rest of Liverpool’s players when the two teams meet later in the season.
