According to Martin Keown, Beto might “rescue” Everton this season as Farhad Moshiri’s final signing for the club could be “one of the best.”

The £26 million signing has excelled in his early Everton career, but Keown believes he can improve even more, implying he may be a parting present to the club before the 777 Partners purchase is finalised.

According to the Liverpool Echo (15 September, 17:55), Keown stated, “I actually think Beto might just save the club this season.” He might be a savior for them, and it could be Moshiri’s final signing that turns out to be one of the best.”

It will take a lot for a single player to change the fortunes at Goodison Park, but Keown believes the Portuguese attacker will have a significant impact this season.

Everton’s main problem on the field this season has been goal scoring, with the Toffees sitting in 18th place and the joint-lowest scorers after four Premier League games.

Beto has made a promising start to his life in Merseyside. While he is clearly not at his best, flashes of brilliance have compelled the Goodison Park crowd to rally behind him.

He scored his first goal on his debut as a half-time substitute in Everton’s League Cup win over Doncaster Rovers. He has yet to score in the league, but he has looked active and has demonstrated his ability to keep the ball and stretch the opposition defense.

Sean Dyche will be hoping that his two new boys, along with loanee Arnaut Danjuma, can get the Toffees back on track as quickly as possible. Things have changed off the field at the club since 777 agreed to takeover on September 15th, so perhaps Moshiri’s final signing might assist promote improvements on it.

There is still a long way to go in the season, but Goodison Park may have found its new “saviour.”

In other Everton news, Andre Gomes’ future at Goodison Park may be jeopardized after what his probable new manager stated.
