Paul Merson said on Twitter that it ‘hurts me to admit (it),’ but he was impressed by Tottenham Hotspur’s amazing comeback win over Sheffield United on Saturday.
It was Leicester City all over again, except this time the magic took place inside Tottenham’s own stadium.
After 97 minutes, it wouldn’t have been surprising to see some supporters leave, disappointed that Ange Postecoglou’s side couldn’t break down a dogged and merciless Sheffield United outfit.
Many would have taken it as ‘simply move on because the season as a whole has started in a wonderful way,’ but then Richarlison lit the flames.
Coming off the bench, he scored and assisted both goals in the 98th and 100th minutes, delighting his home fans.
It also saw former Arsenal player and Sky Sports commentator Paul Merson make an admission about the triumph on Twitter.
