Daniel Farke, the manager of Leeds United, is dissatisfied.

Under the MKM Stadium lights, City will welcome the Whites in a highly anticipated Yorkshire derby.

Daniel Farke, the manager of Leeds United, has expressed his displeasure with the scheduling of Championship games in the run-up to the Whites’ Yorkshire derby against Hull City on Wednesday.

City’s game against Coventry City has been pushed back to Friday night due to an MKM Stadium battle between Hull FC and Huddersfield Giants on Saturday afternoon, while Leeds play Millwall at The Den on Sunday lunchtime in a sold-out match.

Given that the Tigers played at home on Friday night, while Leeds face a long journey to London, Liam Rosenior’s men will have a large amount of extra rest ahead of Wednesday night’s meeting, which has left Farke upset.

“It’s strange from the setup, our next opponent, Hull, plays already, Friday, a home game, then next home game on Wednesday,” the angry German explained. “We have a Sunday away game and a Wednesday away game, but I talked about not feeling sorry for ourselves, so I’m not complaining about this.”

“It has no bearing on the Millwall game.” I’m just concentrating on Millwall right now, and yeah, we want to be successful, we have strong players, and I’m confident in this bunch.

“Yes, there wasn’t a lot of time with the whole group together after the international break, but I’m sure the longer we stay together and the more time we have on the training pitch and work together, the better.” It’s simply a matter of finding the correct setup, balance, and rhythm. And I’m certain that this group will score a lot of points for us.”

The two sides’ first encounter since Leeds won 4-0 on February 29, 2020, will draw the largest MKM Stadium crowd of the season, exceeding the nearly 22,000 who saw Aaron Connolly earn a point against Coventry City on Friday evening.
