Leeds United injury setback confirmed by Daniel Farke

Leeds United’s Djed Spence will be out for a few weeks with an injury.

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has revealed that Djed Spence will be out for a few weeks owing to a knee injury that kept him out of the win over Millwall on Sunday.

Djed Spence has been placed on injured reserve.
The Whites completed a loan deal for the right-back from Tottenham near the conclusion of the window, which was regarded as a major coup for the Championship club.

Spence has already impressed at this level for Nottingham Forest, and Farke will have had great plans for the aggressive full-back as part of his Elland Road setup.

However, the 23-year-old has only made one appearance for Leeds, coming on as a late substitute in the pre-international break tie with Sheffield Wednesday.

The defender was not included in the matchday squad for the 3-0 win at The Den, as Farke revealed to Leeds Live how long the player will be out.

“Unfortunately, Spence has received bad news because Djed has torn his lateral ligament.” out for a few weeks. There is no need for surgery, but please wait for the evaluation.”

Is this a major setback for Leeds United?
It’s obviously not ideal, because Spence has the potential to be one of the Championship’s star full-backs, with his pace and talent down the right side.

But, after a poor start to the season, Luke Ayling is considerably improved, and if he can sustain current standards, he is a very solid option at this level. Farke won’t be concerned since Sam Byram has proven to be a reliable left-back, and he thinks they have enough to cope without Spence.

Spence, on the other hand, will be extremely frustrated. He relocated to Elland Road, and he would have desired a quick start in order to secure a spot in the XI going ahead.

Instead, these unlucky setbacks mean he won’t be able to make the immediate impact he planned for, and he may face a tough battle to get back into the team when he returns.

Farke, on the other hand, wants such rivalry for slots, and it will be necessary to drive standards during what they anticipate would be a promotion push.

Spence will miss which games?
Leeds have five more games until the next international break, which begins after the home game against Bristol City on October 7.

Prior to that, the Whites face Hull, Watford, Southampton, and QPR, and it appears that Spence will miss all of them, though he may be vying for a spot in the team for the final one or two.

What happens next for Leeds United?
Leeds will turn their eyes to another away day at Hull City later this week, following their stunning success in the city.

Farke’s team will face a difficult test, given the Tigers have been impressive on their own turf under Liam Rosenior, but Leeds will fancy their chances against anyone in the league as they attempt to create momentum.
