Everton is looking for its first Premier League victory of the season and will host Arsenal at Goodison Park on Sunday, despite an anticipated takeover by 777 Partners.
On Friday, 777 and Farhad Moshiri agreed to buy his 94.1% stake in Everton, with the transaction set to close in the following months, subject to regulatory permission.
However, Blues manager Sean Dyche’s priority will remain the league campaign, and we chatted to Arsenal fans Sam (@now.arsenal) and Corben ahead of the Gunners’ encounter on Sunday.
We inquired how they were feeling ahead of the game and how they think the two teams will do this season.
Sam: I’m not optimistic because of our track record at Goodison Park, but I believe Arsenal will win.
Corben: I’m really optimistic about our current momentum.
Q: What are your predictions for the game’s score?
Sam: I’m going with the Gunners to win 3-1.
Arsenal wins 2-0, according to Corben.
Q: Who should Everton be concerned about before the game?
Sam: Saka and Degaard are clear threats, but I believe that if he begins, Gabriel Jesus could be the key. He enjoys games with his back to the goal.
Odegaard, since he is a menace in any situation.
Q: Who do you believe is our danger guy, and who should worry you the most?
Sam: Beto frightens me. We struggled at times against United to deal with Hojlund, and Beto is a different level of physicality. He is unquestionably the danger man.
Q: What are your thoughts on Everton’s start to the season?
Sam: Not good. I believed you made a mistake by losing Iwobi. I like Beto, but will he score 15 goals? I’m not sure. Even at this early point of the season, the outcome against Wolves was a significant setback for you. You must be successful in these types of games.
Corben: Unbelievable, straight back into the relegation zone, should not be a threat to Arsenal.
Sam: Our start has been promising. We haven’t blown anyone away yet, but we’re picking up victories despite not being at our best, which is very encouraging. I think we’re going to win the league… (I hope).
Corben: We’ve had a great start to the season, and there’s still time for anything to happen; I believe we’ll finish third.
