DEAL DONE; Leicester City has signed a player from Montpellier €7.5m fee.

‘Now or never,’ says Leicester City midfielder Stephy Mavididi following the club’s victory over Southampton.
Stephy Mavididi comments on Leicester City’s triumph over Southampton and what he might have done differently.
Stephy Mavididi of Leicester City stated it was “now or never” for him to score against Southampton on Friday evening.

The winger, who joined City from Montpellier in the summer transfer window, scored the game’s fourth goal as City recorded their fourth league win in five games.

After the game, the 25-year-old spoke about his goal and conceded he might have “made better decisions” during the game, despite City winning comfortably.
“Obviously, we had that sour taste of coming off the defeat from Hull,” Mavididi told LCFC.com. “We wanted to make things right, and coming to a place like Southampton away from home is always difficult.” They have terrific football, but we performed well as a team and won.

“I was thinking for the last one, it’s now or never, you’ve got to score this one.” Thank God, it worked. I had a couple chances previously, and I could have made better selections, but the crucial thing is that we gained three points.

“Before the game, we always say start strong, so when I intercepted that pass, I had one thought – just attack them right away, put them on the back foot.” We got off to the finest possible start.

“We just kept going from there.” I’m literally dancing in my brain when he (Maresca) orders to assault them. It’s something I enjoy doing to get the ball and run at players. It’s one of my strengths, and I’ll do everything I can to assist the squad. We have a lot of pace in the forward areas, which is great.”

Looking ahead to the remainder of the season, “I think there’s a lot more to come,” Mavididi continued, “it’s still early days.” We always listen to the gaffer as a team. He comes up with fresh ideas and attempts to execute them in practice, and we certainly try to put them in games.

“We have to stick together, keep our feet on the ground, and take it one game at a time.” We just have to keep going – keep working hard, keep playing the way we do, and keep listening to the coach. Everyone is paying attention, which is a positive sign.”

“Maybe I could have done things better”? If he’d squared it earlier in the game, Vardy and McAteer would have had tap ins, and the same with the one he did score, the low risk certain goal would have been tap it to KDH.
Better judgments, and we’ll have a true player. A lot of talent and flare, appears to be a self-assured player who needs to keep it up. This is a highly promising signing.
You are only as good as your next game in the Championship. As soon as you believe you’ve cracked it, some mediocre squad will knock you off your throne. Preston, who are you?

Southampton were rated poorly in many assessments, yet they are significantly more interesting to watch than Everton, Forest, or Burnley. Obviously, we, Leicester City, want promotion in order to compete financially, but there is plenty of strong competition in the Championship, and we are genuinely enjoying the games without VAR bias.
There are three big games coming up: Norwich, Preston, and Blackburn. When the dust settles on those three matches, we’ll know where we stand. Everyone must be satisfied with what has occurred thus far, and there is no reason to believe that this trend will not continue.
