SAD NEWS; WANDERERS’ squad has been injuries in recentn week

WANDERERS’ team has been reduced to skeletons in recent weeks due to injuries.
WANDERERS’ roster has been rocked hard by injuries in recent weeks, with possibly six senior players sitting in the treatment room.
Dion Charles is the latest injury concern for Ian Evatt following Saturday’s defeat at Reading, and with Eoin Toal facing a one-game suspension for his late red card, there are now potentially only 17 fit players who have played senior football at Bolton who can play this weekend at home to Peterborough United.

This list contains Luke Matheson and Nelson Khumbeni, both of whom have only one replacement appearance to their names.

Matheson, a former Wolves player, traveled with the first squad to Reading but was not named to the substitutes’ bench.

We look at the players that have been ruled out of the game in this section.

GARY JOHNSTON

Has undergone knee surgery after injuring his knee in the club’s first pre-season friendly at Bamber Bridge.
On the positive side, the procedure was a success, and no difficulties are expected for Johnston as he begins a careful recovery with the goal of rejoining the team next summer.

However, considering his consistency last season and his progress in two years at the club, his absence has been felt greatly.

COLEMAN, JOEL

In the Carabao Cup defeat to Middlesbrough, he tore his calf muscle and had to be replaced at half time. The Bolton-born goalkeeper had been brought in on a free transfer over the summer to compete with Nathan Baxter and had performed admirably in his two cup games.
Coleman was originally supposed to be out for six weeks, which means he might be back in action by the beginning of next month.

GOMES, CARLOS MENDES

Following a promising start for Bolton, the summer transfer from Luton Town suffered a hamstring injury in the EFL Trophy win over Salford City, in which he also scored his first goal for the club.

The injury is expected to keep him out.

MAGHOMA DE PARISThis season, the on-loan Brentford midfielder has made nine appearances, two of which have been starts in League One. However, he suffered a thigh injury in training last week and is now sidelined until the international break.

CHARLES DION?

The Northern Ireland international had to be hauled off at the end of Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Reading after injuring his shoulder.

It is unclear if Charles will be out long time, but manager Ian Evatt expressed optimism after the game that the striker would be able to manage the injury and would not have to miss games.
