Enzo Maresca gives an intriguing opinion on Leicester City.

Enzo Maresca will give a chance to an intriguing Leicester City combo to provide ‘fresh vitality’ to the first squad.

Will Alves and Sammy Braybrooke are two of the club’s top prospects who are nearing the end of their recovery from ACL tears sustained in the winter.

Enzo Maresca shares Leicester City fans’ excitement about Will Alves and Sammy Braybrooke, with the young duo set to add “new energy” to the first-team side once fit.

This season, Maresca has welcomed starlets from City’s youth group into his side, with Kasey McAteer leading the club in scoring, Wanya Marcal scoring his first goal for the club, and Jakub Stolarczyk and Ben Nelson making their professional debuts.

Debutant Braybrooke Striving For More

Alves and Braybrooke, however, are two of the club’s most enticing possibilities. Both are recovering from ACL tears sustained throughout the winter and have returned to light exercise. They may be able to play in games again in a few months.

When they return, they will be competing for a spot on Maresca’s first team. After being apprised of their abilities, the City manager stated that he has watched recordings of them and is eager to see them in action when they are fully fit.

“Absolutely, I’m aware of them,” Maresca stated. “Even if they now have injuries, because everyone is talking about them so well, I saw some games and clips about them, and they both look very good.” But, regrettably, they are injured right now, so we’ll see when they recover.

“It’s always good to have young players with new energy and full energy.” Hopefully, they’ll be able to return soon, and they’ll definitely be with us. We’ll see how they turn out.”

Both are still in their teens and appear to be great candidates for Maresca’s approach. Braybrooke, a deep-lying midfielder, should fill in nicely for Harry Winks, while Alves, who has refined his off-the-ball skills with City’s development squad, might play well as a number eight.

They will play for the Under-21s before getting an opportunity in the first team, especially with Maresca having such a large group at his disposal. Marcal and Nelson both returned to Ben Petty’s side on Friday night for their 4-3 Premier League Cup defeat at Burnley since they were not needed in the first squad at Southampton.

Marcal scored first, and following an equalizer on the stroke of halftime, Amani Richards put City ahead again before the hour. City subsequently conceded three goals in 20 minutes, with Silko Thomas scoring an injury-time consolation. The Under-21s have now lost four consecutive games across all competitions.
