The young defender, who arrived at Tottenham with great potential, struggled during his brief stay in North London. Tottenham targeted Djed Spence aggressively last summer, eventually closing the deal with a £19 million signing from Middlesbrough.

The anticipation was obvious among supporters.

The club hoped he would emulate the form he showed during his previous season at Nottingham Forest. Unfortunately, the changeover did not proceed as well as intended.
Spence’s stint at Tottenham was marked by restricted opportunities, with only six first-team appearances and 41 minutes of playing time. Many people assumed that his lack of playing time was due to Antonio Conte’s unwillingness to use a player whose signing was not fully at his control.
With Conte’s departure and the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as the new manager this summer, there was a glimmer of optimism that Spence might finally have the chance to show off his skills in a Spurs shirt. That, once again, was not to be.

But fate had other plans.

Unfortunately, his stay at Leeds has not been without incident. With only one brief replacement appearance under his belt, the 23-year-old is currently dealing with a serious knee injury.

Djed Spence experienced knee ligament injury during a training session last week, according to The Athletic. The ailment, which has been classified as lateral collateral ligament damage, will not require surgery but will keep him out until the middle of November.
