As Everton confirm new contract, Stanley Mills delivers two-word message to 23-year-old teammate.

Stanley Mills, a teenage Everton player, has delivered a two-word message to his teammate Billy Crellin after the goalkeeper signed a new deal with the Blues.

Crellin, 23, joined Goodison Park from Fleetwood Town in January 2022 and has now renewed his contract, keeping him at the club until 2025.

The teenage goalkeeper took to Instagram to celebrate the news, writing, “Happy to have signed a new contract @everton.”

Stanley Mills, an academy star, responded on his colleagues’ post, saying, “Congrats mate.”

Young players like Crellin and Mills might be Everton’s future.
Crellin has yet to make his senior appearance for Everton, with England first choice Jordan Pickford, Joao Virginia, and experienced Andy Lonergan ahead of him in the pecking order.

A new contract, on the other hand, is a vote of confidence in the 23-year-old, who has stated his desire to get meaningful playing time on loan.

Crellin told the official Everton website: “I’ve been on loan a couple of times, so I understand what it’s like to play league football.” Hopefully, I’ll be able to go on loan and experience the thrill of playing at three o’clock on a Saturday.

[I’d like to] get to January and go out on loan to show everyone at the Club what I’m capable of. Then return the following season and proceed from there.

After that, I’ll see where I am and aim to be No. 1 in the future.”

Indeed, Crellin’s Everton teammate Stanley Mills is now on loan at League One club Oxford United, where the 19-year-old has scored once in six outings.

Crellin may be up against some experienced keepers at Everton, but if he can secure a loan move and gain some senior experience, he might have a bright future at the Blues.
