Daniel Farke provides a ‘painful’ Willy Gnonto injury report following Leeds United’s draw with Hull City.
Daniel Farke has provided an update on Willy Gnonto’s injury, which occurred during Leeds United’s 0-0 draw with Hull City on Wednesday (20 September).

The Whites coach told LeedsLive on Wednesday that the Italian international twisted his ankle, which was “pretty painful” as he was taken off the field after only 21 minutes as the game ended 0-0 at MKM Stadium.

He also stated that the 19-year-old forward’s foot was “a little swollen,” but he hopes the injury isn’t too serious because they must “wait for further assessment.”
“Yes, it was a knock on his foot,” Farke said. “He also rolled his ankle a little bit, which was pretty painful, a little swollen, and we have to wait for further evaluation.”

“I hope it’s not too awful. But now we must wait.”
It’s always difficult to deal with ankle injuries, and Gnonto certainly received a significant blow that prompted him to be substituted.

He appears to be out for at least the game against Watford on Saturday (23 September), as he would need to heal quickly.

fast to be available.

That would be a setback for Farke, who regards the Italian as an important element of his team and pushed hard to keep him at the club throughout the summer.
However, if he is absent, another player will get the opportunity to step in and perform, and that player is likely to be Crysencio Summerville, who impressed when he came on for his fellow attacker on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old Dutchman was unlucky not to score, having had several attempts stopped by Hull keeper Ryan Allsop as the game finished goalless.
In other Leeds United news, one player may be set to leave the club permanently following an £82 million development.
