EVERTON IN CONTACT WITH FORMER LIVERPOOL TARGET OF £31M FOR JANUARY

Everton are in talks with Paris Saint-Germain attacker Hugo Ekitike’s representatives ahead of the January transfer window.

Hugo Ekitike is still a transfer target for Everton, despite rumors of a summer move to Goodison Park.

According to 90Min, a number of Premier League clubs are interested in signing Ekitike.

The French striker emerged as a tremendous prospect with Reims before signing a loan-to-buy deal with PSG last summer.

PSG, on the other hand, desired Ekitike to go as part of a deal involving Randal Kolo Muani before the summer deadline.

While Kolo Muani joined PSG, Ekitike turned down a move to Eintracht Frankfurt and has yet to appear in a matchday squad since.

PSG may now freeze Ekitike out, and Premier League clubs are lining up to recruit him in January.

Everton in talks with Hugo Ekitike’s representation 90Min now claims that Everton is one of the clubs in talks with Ekitike’s representatives.

The Toffees want to be kept updated on any prospective January transfer, but so do other Premier League clubs.

Brentford, West Ham United, and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also reportedly interested in signing Ekitike in January.

According to Sky Sports writer Alan Myers, Everton were interested in signing Ekitike over the summer and’submitted an offer’.

Sean Dyche’s side eventually signed Beto from Udinese, so a move for Ekitike would be surprise now.

Everton recruited Beto and Youssef Chermiti to their forward ranks, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains at the club.

Adding another centre forward like Ekitike may seem like overkill unless Chermiti is going on loan.

Liverpool wanted Ekitike last year, and he has to leave PSG to get his career back on track.

Report: PSG Denies Rumors of Possible Loan Departure for Hugo Ekitike

The Frenchman was seen as a tremendous potential in 2022, but he is now in danger of being frozen out at PSG.

In February 2022, 90Min reported that Liverpool had joined Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea in scouting Ekitike.

The Reds were considering Ekitike for a move to Anfield, possibly seeing him as a future star.

After all, Everton might offer Ekitike a move to Merseyside, with Ekitike well aware that he needs to move on and play consistently if he wants to attract that high level of interest again in the future.
