The 26-year-old is currently sidelined with a hip injury, and Sean Dyche has stated that he is ‘not ready’ to return to first-team action.

Everton manager Sean Dyche has given winger Jack Harrison a health update ahead of Saturday’s trip to Brentford.

Harrison joined Everton on a season-long loan from Championship side Leeds United in the summer, but injury has prevented him from making his debut.

The 26-year-old is currently sidelined with a hip injury, and Sean Dyche has stated that he is ‘not ready’ to return to first-team action.

The Everton manager said that the loanee is ‘back on the grass’ in training but is not yet ready to make his debut for the Blues.

Dyche delivered an update on Harrison during his pre-match press conference, which was broadcast live on Everton’s official YouTube page.

“No, I’m not [ready to] begin. He’s back on the grass after being in a long-term situation. He’s doing well, and his fitness appears to be good, but he’s not quite ready to go yet.”

Everton supporters will be hoping to see Jack Harrison in the starting lineup.

Harrison’s ingenuity will be a boon for Sean Dyche’s side once he is available, but it appears we will have to wait a little longer to see him in an Everton shirt.

Dwight McNeil, another winger, returned from injury during the 2-2 draw at Bramall Lane earlier this month, and Dyche said that the 23-year-old was ‘probably’ brought back too early.

However, Everton manager David Moyes said that the winger is ‘alright’ ahead of Saturday’s trip to London. Dyche said: “Dwight’s alright, probably went back in a little bit quick if I’m being honest and I asked a lot of him in the last performance, but he’ll get true fitness coming quickly.

Brentford, with only one point, will be a difficult encounter for the Toffees, whose form has been erratic in the early weeks of the season, with three draws, one win, and one defeat.
