Paul Merson is’shocked’ by what he witnessed at Everton and predicts a ‘Big’ relegation.

Paul Merson, who was’shocked’ by what he saw at Everton vs. Arsenal, predicts relegation live on Sky Sports.

Paul Merson claims he was “shocked” by how quiet Goodison Park was during Everton’s game against Arsenal and is concerned about the club’s Premier League position.

The Gunners defeated the Toffees 1-0, giving them four losses in five games to begin the season, and they now remain in the bottom three ahead of Saturday’s trip to Brentford.

Merson acknowledged on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday (23 September, 13:31) that he was concerned about them after seeing what he saw in the defeat to Arsenal.

“My main concern, as Sue mentioned, was that it was quiet,” he explained.

“The one thing about going to Everton is that it’s a difficult place to go.” You know it’s going to be difficult no matter where they are in the league. You know they’ll be around you, and you know the throng will be on top of you.

“I just thought it was a walk in the park for Arsenal, and Everton surprised me.” Even when they’re near the bottom, I always think you’ve done well if you go to Everton and win a football match. No, not just now.

“I’m worried about Everton.” I’ve been concerned since the beginning, and nothing has changed. It’s enhanced it even more.”

Scared

Merson isn’t the only one concerned about Everton being relegated following a poor start to the season, and it’s difficult to disagree why.

The club is currently struggling to score goals at one end of the pitch while failing to keep the ball out of the net at the other, which is a formula for catastrophe for anyone.

Dyche appears to be struggling to get his ideas over, despite the fact that he is famed for making his teams defensively strong, and we need to start picking up victories and points immediately.

The game against Brentford will be an excellent opportunity to do so, but it will not be easy, with the Bees in excellent form and unbeaten against us since their promotion to the Premier League.

Everyone is concerned, and until we see evidence as to why we will remain in the top flight, fans have every right to be chewing their nails and praying that they are incorrect.

In other Everton news, the club has made contact with a Champions League winger in order to recruit him in January.
