The participation of prospective new Everton owners in British Basketball has been called into doubt.

The British Basketball League has now questioned the ability of possible new Everton owners 777 Partners to financially sustain the organization they co-own.

According to news sources today, the basketball league, which the US investment company has purchased, is concerned that money owed to them by the company is not being paid, and the Premier League is looking into it.

777 Partners has been scrutinized ever since they returned to the scene and promised to buy Everton from Farhad Moshiri.

There have been questions raised regarding their finances (particularly if they can afford a full buyout), the background and past behavior of key personnel, and their seeming lack of ambition in other football club acquisitions.

Furthermore, Premier League clubs have expressed their own worries, which can be largely discounted because part of their ownership may be called into question, and they cannot stop an acquisition of a neighboring club.

All of this, however, makes things even more cloudy and ambiguous, adding to Everton supporters’ significant doubts about the profitability and durability of this arrangement.

I want Moshiri and his board to leave, because anything must be preferable to the chaos, confusion, and incompetence we have endured for far too long under his management.

The Toffees have become a laughingstock and a byword for football failure, struggling desperately on the field while incurring massive debts off it.

However, this does not imply that any old new owners will suffice.

We need to know that whoever takes over this once-great club has a clear football strategy, solid resources, and the ambition to move the team forward.

Are those owners 777 Partners?

I’m not sure. Looking at all of these concerns, the answer appears to be no, but who else can you turn to?

One thing is certain: until Sean Dyche improves his players’ performances and starts picking up more points – starting tonight against Brentford – whomever is in charge of the club will be facing a Championship-bound team.
