According to Dr. Rajpal Brar, Aston Villa player Tim Iroegbunam may have experienced a new setback in his injury recovery.

The injury expert believes the team is withholding too much information about the 20-year-old following his surgery in May.

Unai Emery stated at the start of September that he is training alone, but the club has yet to provide a return date.

Dr. Brar, a physical therapist and sports scientist, informed Villa News about his injury and likely return:

“He could have had a setback, whether in the injured area or elsewhere, or his rehabilitation is simply taking longer than expected.”

“It’s difficult to make anything of the club not providing that information because most clubs prefer to keep that information close to their chest.”

“It appears that he’ll be out for at least a few weeks.”

The Englishman had a terrific loan season at Queens Park Rangers in 2022-23, and it was expected that he would be a first-team contender for Villa.

However, his injury has slowed his progress, and he is yet to appear in Unai Emery’s preseason.

It does appear to be a long road back for him, and it will be a great surprise if he returns in the next weeks, given the club’s lack of encouraging developments.

In other Aston Villa news, a senior attacker has been ruled out of the club’s future games after suffering a Grade 3 muscle rupture.
