Alan Shearer included four Mags in his Team of the Week, along with players from, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

Following our 8-0 triumph in Sheffield, Alan Shearer has chosen FOUR Newcastle United players to his Premier League Team of the Week, including Kieran Trippier, Sven Botman, Anthony Gordon, and Eddie Howe.

Trippier’s “masterclass” as the Toon skipper bagged a hat-trick of assists, as well as Botman’s first goal and excellent defensive showing, as he “didn’t give Sheffiled Utd a sniff.”

Man of the match Gordon was chosen for providing a “real spark” in attack, as well as a “fantastic finish,” while Howe was praised for overseeing a “historic victory” in South Yorkshire, when we recorded our largest ever away win.

Here’s what Shearer said about all four Mags, followed by his full TOTW, which included Emi Martinez, Jonny Evans, Cheick Doucoure, Phil Foden, and Son Heung-Min:

“A masterclass in set-piece and open-play delivery,” says Kieran Trippier (Newcastle). “Three assists and another outstanding performance.”

Sven Botman (Newcastle) “scored his first Premier League goal and didn’t give Sheff Utd a sniff.”

Anthony Gordon (Newcastle): “He provided a real spark when he came on and got on the scoresheet with a fantastic finish.”

“What can you say!” says Newcastle manager Eddie Howe. “I oversaw a historic victory at Bramall Lane.”
