Everton extends crucial sponsorship agreement ahead of the WSL season

Everton’s partnership with British watchmaker Christopher Ward has been expanded to include sponsorship of the women’s team.

The company first became a sponsor in June 2022, becoming the club’s first worldwide timing partner, with branding visible around Goodison Park on matchdays.

The multi-year partnership has now expanded to include the Christopher Ward logo on the back of Everton Women’s shirts for the upcoming Barclays Women’s Super League season, which begins on Sunday (October 1) with a home match against Brighton & Hove Albion (1pm kick-off).

The collaboration will attempt to deliver’money can’t buy’ experiences for Everton Women fans, as well as demonstrate the brand’s support for the women’s game and bring a welcome commercial boost to the club.

“We are thrilled to continue to build on our partnership with Everton,” said Kate Peregrine, marketing director at Christopher Ward. We were adamant about supporting both the men’s and women’s games – accessibility and inclusivity have been central to our concept and brand since the beginning.

“It’s fantastic to see the women’s game receiving the attention it deserves as a result of England’s success, and how that has led to an increase in what is an incredibly competitive and absorbing Women’s Super League.”

“We are proud the name of Christopher Ward will be appearing on Everton Women’s shirts, and we can’t wait for the new season to begin.”

The sponsorship expansion included the first appearance of Christopher Ward logo on Everton shirts, with the Premier League permitting only front and sleeve advertisers in the men’s game, while the WSL allows for back of shirt sponsorship.

“We are really pleased to announce our extended partnership with Christopher Ward,” Everton’s chief marketing and communications officer Richard Kenyon said.

“In addition to proactively seeking new partners to add to our portfolio, we are constantly working to strengthen the valuable partnerships we already have – for the benefit of the partner, the Club, and, of course, our fans.” This expanded arrangement demonstrates the Club’s relationship with Christopher Ward, and I’d want to thank everyone engaged in this partnership to date for their hard work and innovation in making it a success.

“Everyone at the Club is thrilled to be supporting Christopher Ward’s development, and we are enthusiastic about the platform and opportunities this partnership with our women’s team will provide for them going forward.”
