Real Madrid’s start to the season was not very impressive in terms of form as some of their performances disappointed their fans. At the same time, one cannot question their effectiveness in terms of results, they won all their matches except the 1-3 loss to Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano Stadium.
This is certainly a period of transition for the club. And they have not been helped by the fact that several of their key players are currently injured.
Additionally, they seem to be slowly moving away from the Old Guard. And the lack of playing time does not satisfy them.
According to a report by The Athletic, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos have both lost their starting spots. And that makes them unhappy.

Kroos and Modric are two timeless legends of the tournament. It would be difficult for others to recognize what these two have accomplished during their time at the Santiago Bernabeu. At the same time, it’s important to realize that both are in the twilight of their careers. Although they still have many of their own qualities, playing together no longer seems like a good choice.
Carlo Ancelotti started with them in the recent match against Atletico Madrid and the result was not very positive. However, it must be mentioned that Kroos scored a wonderful goal that day.
Currently, there is great competition in the middle of Real Madrid’s field. Aurélien Tchouameni, Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga and Fede Valverde could all move ahead of Kroos and Modric in the pecking order. It will be sad if one day they leave but that’s football. That is life.
